When I look at my picture I always cringe (I'm not one for liking my picture being taken too often). I can see that there's a lot of life and a lot of experience under this skin and plenty of grey hair (although that is very well hidden). My name is Angela, I am a Registered Independent Wedding Celebrant - Which means I can legally perform, Wedding Ceremonies, Civil Union Ceremonies, and I can also officiate at Funeral Ceremonies, Vow Renewals, Naming Ceremonies, Memorials and other celebrations for special events such as graduations, birthdays and other great milestones where a touch of "uniqueness" is warranted.
I am a current member of CANZ (The Celebrants Association of New Zealand) which is the professional body for celebrants in NZ. Although there is no legal requirement to undertake any formal type of education to be a celebrant, I am a little bit of a "study nerd" (which is funny since I hated school studies) and decided to enhance my Celebrant knowledge by taking this amazing journey a step further with The Celebrancy Training College where I have been working through - and I have almost completed - a Diploma of Celebrancy, which will now sit proudly along side my Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) Degree.
My journey into celebrancy really started for me later in life. I have owned and operated several successful business in both the customer service and health sectors. I have three beautiful children and now have a gorgeous wee grandson too. Celebrancy is something I have always been interested in and looked at doing but my passion for it really flourished when I was privileged to be asked to officiate at my son and his fiance's upcoming wedding and then again when my daughter and her fiance got engaged and they too asked me to officiate their wedding. So I thought "Why wait any longer?!" and not being one to shy away from hard work; I looked into the in's and out's of celebrancy and got all the paperwork under way (Yes! This includes the police checks), the formal interviews, the quizzes and then enrolled in The Diploma of Celebrancy and I haven't looked back since!!
I feel very honored and privileged to be able to help people create the ceremonies they've dreamed of during emotionally charged times such as celebrating the life of and saying goodbye to loved ones at funerals or memorial services OR basking in love and light at weddings, Civil Unions, naming ceremonies and everything in between!
I would love and be honored to walk alongside you during this AMAZING journey!
